Fundraising Event for Itatu
AFRICAN DANCING AND DRUMMING GET TOGETHER
Celebrate Black History Month by joining the members of Habobo Toronto for some fun and energetic drumming and dancing. This is both a recreational and an educational evening for anyone interested in African dancing and drumming. At Habobo Fridays, teachers from around TDSB and community members join together to learn the traditional drumming, singing and dancing of Ghana, West Africa.
We will continue to work on learning Kpanlogo and Gota, traditional Ghanaian pieces that are easy to learn and fun to play and dance. Both dances are great for doing with students as part of your dance program.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
* There is NO CHARGE but we do accept a suggested $10 donation that will go toward Itatu Orphan Care. This organization, founded by a TDSB teacher provides two meals a day, school supplies and uniforms to orphans in Malawi so that they may have the good health, energy and resources needed to attend and be successful at school.
We hope that you will join us. Please bring your friends and family and enjoy an evening of recreational drumming and fun. Drums provided.

Jennifer, is this event still on? I saw that it had been cancelled on Facebook…
I read with sadness your recent post and feel the frustration in your words. Despite your setbacks, you should be very proud that you are at least trying to make a difference. So many of us acknowledge the problems, but do nothing. I hope this little bit of money gives you the confidence to keep moving forward. One day at a time, we can make a difference.
